In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Walker DeLorme
Barbara Ann Walker DeLorme, born on February 17, 1944, to parents Mary Anvilee (Parker) Walker and Horace McKinley Walker, entered eternal rest on December 5, 2023. She was married to Phillip Paul DeLorme on March 18, 1960, and together they raised a loving family. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband Phillip and their five children: Tammy (Ty) Metzger, Jeff (Michele) DeLorme, DeAnna (Tim) Murguia, Michael DeLorme, and Stephen (Angela) DeLorme. Her legacy continues through 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, which were a constant source of joy and pride. A pillar of strength and compassion, Barbara dedicated herself to her faith and community. As a member of the House on the Rock Church in Piqua, she played an integral role in the church's youth groups, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of many as a pastor's wife. Her commitment extended beyond the church, as she actively participated in the Appalachian Backpack Ministry and the Southern Baptist Women's group, embodying the spirit of service and kindness. Barbara is survived by her sister, Phillis Walker Smith, and cherished memories of her will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cathy (Walker) Wooten, and brother Anthony Walker. In celebration of Barbara’s life, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hickernell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Willowview Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to the Appalachian Backpack Ministry in Barbara’s honor. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of love and service continue to inspire us all. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
