ARLINE K. FUHR

Arline K. Fuhr, 82, of Columbus, Ohio passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, at Ohio Living Westminster Thurber in Columbus. She was born on April 2, 1941 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Dr. George M. and Miriam (Elliott) Felger. She married Dennis Vernon Fuhr on October 2, 1971 in Evanston, Illinois.

Arline is survived by Dennis and their two children - Scott D. Fuhr (Rebekah) of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and Katie S. Laakkonen (Keith) of Naples, Florida - and by grandchild Avery Vianne Fuhr; and also by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Susan Felger.

Arline was a graduate of Piqua High School, class of 1959. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Capital University and her Master’s degree from The Ohio State University.

Arline worked in higher education in the registrar’s office at both Capital University and at Wright State University. She also served as registrar of Kendall College in Chicago, Illinois. Later, Arline was business administrator for the Bunn-Minnick Pipe Organ Company in Columbus, Ohio.

She and Dennis are longtime members of Broad Street United Methodist Church, where she was church secretary and played in the handbell choir. Arline also often played the flute in worship services. Arline exuberated with a joyous personality that was often spread to others through her uplifting laugh. She lives on in our hearts, causing us to smile at the mere mention of her name.

There will be a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua on Saturday, April 22, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. John S. Girard presiding. A memorial service to honor her life will take place on Saturday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the Broad Street United Methodist Church, 501 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215. The family will greet visitors at 1:00 p.m., one hour before the memorial service starts.
