ARLENE D. EVANS

Arlene D. Evans, 85, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 3:33 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at Ayden Healthcare of Piqua. She was born October 12, 1937 in Piqua to the late Clarence W. and R. Marcella (Orput) Denman. She married Christian L. “Chris” Evans May 11, 1957 in Piqua; and he preceded her in death April 3, 2021.

Survivors include two children, Michael (Terry) Evans, Mindy (Bob) Hodge, both of Piqua; six grandchildren, Holly (Clete) Francis, Heather (Craig) Landefeld, Elizabeth (Mitch) Bolin, Mitch (Baylee) Evans, MacKenzie (Ben) Gover, Quentin (Zoe) Evans; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ron Denman of Mansfield.

Mrs. Evans was a 1955 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked for many years as a secretary and paralegal for Princi & King Law Office. She was a dedicated and active member of the Salvation Army Corps where she served as a Corps Sergeant Major and the Young Peoples Sergeant Major in her youth. She enjoyed staying active in the community and served as the past president of the Piqua PTA and past Chairperson of Renew Piqua. She loved to go out to eat with her family and friends and was a self proclaimed food critic; and always found the best deserts. She could be found on Friday’s at the movie theater for her weekly visit to view a film and enjoy her popcorn. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.

A service to honor her life will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Salvation Army with the Corps Sergeant Majors officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Private burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.
