ANNA "RUTH" PATTON
Anna "Ruth" Patton, 88, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 4:34 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Brookdale of Troy. She was born December 31, 1932 to the late Arthur D. and Maggie (Hess) Helton. She married Carl R. Patton, Sr. December 8, 1951 in Tazewell, Virginia; he preceded her in death May 1, 2009.
Survivors include two children, Kay (Bill) Cartwright of Piqua, Carl R. (Karen) Patton, Jr. of Martinez, Georgia; four grandchildren, Melissa (Brian) Willis, Eva "Nickie" (Jon) Cool, Jeremy Patton and Kyle Patton; three great grandchildren, Noah Willis, Ian Willis, Isaac Cool; and multiple nieces and nephews including Rita Miller, Leslie Miller, and Butch Helton. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karen Patton; two sisters, Della Jones, Eula Perkins and two brothers, Gene Helton and Arthur D. Helton, Jr.
Mrs. Patton worked in retail before joining Beckert Brothers as a secretary. She also worked for Piqua Lumber as well as the Piqua Emery Foundry. She loved to work and didn't retire until she was 82 years old. In addition to working, Ruth loved gardening; she was known for her large vegetable garden and her lovely flower beds. Her family was the center of her life. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Don Solin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Brookdale of Troy for their incredible care and affection for Ruth as well as the rest of her family. They would also like to offer a special Thank You to the nurses at Hospice of Miami County for their care.
