Alan M. Cooper, 52, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born May 9, 1969 in Piqua to Alfred “Al” and Rosalie “Rosie” (Morton) Cooper of Piqua. He married Kyle M. Jacomet October 14, 2000 in Piqua; and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters at home, Bailey Cooper, Taylor Cooper; two brothers, David (Beth) Cooper of Trotwood, Tom (Brenda) Shaner of Piqua; three sisters, Donna (Gene) Ehmann of Anna, Cindy (Tom) Paul of Piqua, and Julie (Kenny) Epley of Edison, Nebraska.
Alan was a 1987 graduate of Piqua High School. He worked as a Team Lead for Perrigo Company in Covington. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Football. He liked to camp, especially at Glacier Hill Lakes in Wapak with his family. He like to cook and enjoyed his food “the hotter the better”. He enjoyed tending to his garden that was full of hot peppers that he liked to cook with. He was a lover of craft beer, trivia, music, and shoes. Mostly, he loved and adored his family. He was a devoted father and husband. He cherished his time spent with his family; especially watching his daughters grow into independent young women. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel P. Hunt as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alan’s name may be made to the Lehman Foundation for a fund set up to assist Taylor and Bailey’s education; Lehman Catholic High School, 2400 St. Mary’s Ave. Sidney, OH 45365.
