VIVIAN E. BRELSFORD

Vivian E. Brelsford, 85, of Piqua, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Landing of Sidney Senior Living. She was born September 15, 1935 in Springfield to the late Orval and Nellore (Shaffer) Rice. She married Rhett W. Brelsford June 19, 1960 at the Terre Haute United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death December 14, 2010.

Survivors include five children, Randall W. Sr. (Micki) Brelsford of Piqua, Letty (Mike) Roeth of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Kyna Congdon of Piqua, Braden Brelsford of Dayton, Kassia (Jason) Studebaker of Troy; nine grandchildren, Randall W. Brelsford Jr., Russell Brelsford, Ryan (Chereasa) Roeth, Colin (Elena) Roeth, Brandi (Aaron) McElfresh, Megan Congdon, Jovie, Dalton and Kalena Studebaker, Tess Yandell; and six great grandchildren, Makayla, Kegan, Beckett, Makenzie, Mason, Jackson, Isabelle; and one sister-in-law, Winnie Brelsford of Cable. She was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene & Roger Rhodes, Janet & Don Insley; one brother, Orville “Bud” Rice; and one granddaughter, Logan Roeth.

Mrs. Brelsford was a 1953 graduate of Westville High School and graduated from Defiance College. She taught for several years at Graham Junior High School then worked as a substitute for Piqua City Schools. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was active with the Church Women. She was a 4-H advisor in Springcreek Township and was involved with the Piqua City Schools Athletic and Music Boosters. She worked for Meijer following her teaching career. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. She was an expert seamstress and loved to make things for her grandchildren. She loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.

A private graveside service to honor her life will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at Terre Haute Cemetery with Pastor Mark Rudasill officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, P.O.
