Obituary

MARY L. (VOGLER) BLACK

Mary L. (Vogler) Black, 102, of Piqua, passed away at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2-018 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1916 in Piqua to the late Joseph and Lelah (Garrett) Bixler. She married Gerald H. Vogler who preceded her in death in 1985, she then married G. William Black on April 25, 1995 in Lockington, he preceded her in death March 16, 2002.

Survivors include a son, W. Stephen (Ann) Vogler of Piqua; a daughter, Cheryl Vogler of Piqua; three grandchildren, Melissa (Rick) Harmon, Melinda (Victor) McBride, Jerred (Nikki) Vogler; five great grandchildren, Hannah (Dustin) Wenrick, Billy (Myka) Booth, Victoria McBride, Amanda Vogler, Trey Vogler; three step-great grandchildren, Alex (Lisa) Harmon, Tyler Renner, Josh (Sarah) McBride; five great great grandchildren, Jaxen Wenrick, Knox Wenrick, Wyatt Bores, Adelle Bores, Leon Warner; four step-great great grandchildren, Willow McBride, Henry McBride, Raphael Harmon, Soledad Harmon; two sisters, Johanna Tomz and Sara Sinatra both of Florida; her pet dog, Izzy; and the descendants of her second husband, G. William Black. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Lillianne McBride, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Black attended Piqua City Schools. She was a wonderful homemaker and accomplished seamstress having sewn dresses for many women including famous singers. She enjoyed swimming, playing cards, dancing, traveling, gambling and visiting Las Vegas.

A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a. m Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Beechwood Cemetery with Peggy Moorman officiating. Arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
