JANET M. LAUGHMAN
Janet M. Laughman, 91, of Piqua, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:18 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living of Piqua surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1925 in Troy to the late Joseph M. and Lela O. (Hilliard) Haney. She married Robert Brown Laughman September 17, 1948 in Piqua, he preceded her in death December 30, 2008 following sixty years of marriage.
Survivors include a son, Ronald B. (P.J.) Laughman of Cincinnati; a daughter, Melodie (Lawrence) Huffman of Covington; four grandchildren, Sam (Julie) Hacker, Nick Hacker, Mollie (Ben) Lavy, Justin (Tina) Huffman; eight great grandchildren, Marissa Hacker, Dylan Hacker, Colin Hacker, Alexa Hacker, Ian Wilson, Joel Lavy, Emma Wilson, and Colton Robert Huffman (who was born Friday, January 27, 2017); and Janet's twin sister, Jean Marie (Harry) Nead. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hilliard Haney, and a sister, Minta Ann (Ray) Schlotterbeck.
Mrs. Laughman was a 1943 graduate of Piqua Central High School and enjoyed a thirty-two year career with the Piqua National Bank/Fifth Third Bank where she retired as its Personnel Director and Assistant Vice-President. She was a charter graduate of the Leadership Piqua Class through the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church since the age of ten, and sang in the Adult Choir for fifty-seven years. She held many church offices throughout her years. Most recently, she was a faithful member of "The Joyful Noise Sunday School Class" of Piqua which focuses on supporting many missions.
A service to honor her life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Chalk officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
