Jack L. Manning, 82, of Sun Lakes, Arizona passed away at 7:16 am Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley’s Dobson Home. He was born December 26, 1935 in Piqua to the late Paul and Mildred (Pryfogle) Manning.

Survivors include a step-son, Paul (Cathy) Engel of San Carlos, California; two step-daughters, Dana Minas of Newberry Park, California, Mari (Tom) Young of Sheridan, Oregon; two sisters, Sharon Bowman of Piqua, Leota (William) Penny of Bradford; one sister-in-law Connie Manning of Piqua; five step-grandchildren, Jenni Minas of Portland, Oregon, Taylor Minas of Eagle Rock, California, Brandon Lidgard of Sheridan, Oregon, Nathan Lidgard of Los Angeles, California, and Jake Engel of Arcata, California; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cherished lifetime friends, Jim (Teri) Kiefer of Sun Lakes, Arizona. He was preceded in death by six brothers, William Manning, Paul Edward (Ed) Manning, Hershel “Rex” Gustin, Doyle Manning, Tommy Manning, Robert Manning, and one brother-in-law Robert Bowman, Sr.

Mr. Manning attended Piqua Central High School. He then went on to serve proudly in the United States Army as a Military Policeman from 1955 to 1963. Jack had a passion for aviation, which is evidenced in his career after his military service as an instructor for Lockheed Martin, helping build the P-3 Orion, an aircraft which he loved. He was an avid golfer and bicyclist. He had a contagious laugh, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A service to honor his life will begin at 2 pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Koch officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Tee, 425 South Legacy Tr., St. Augustine, FL 32092.
